Developed Essbase and Hyperion Planning applications using EPMA for metadata management.Created Employee Data ASO cube using data sourced from PeopleSoft HR system. Data from this database is extracted nightly and loaded to a cube similar to Workforce Planning. Used Groovy extensively to load the EPMA interface tables with dimension metadata.Created ASO reporting cube for main Planning cube. Offloading of historical data achieved significant performance increase in Planning. Query performance is also better in the reporting cube, satisfying user requirements.Automated creation of new members in most active dimension using Groovy, Essbase Java API, and EPMA interface tables. This was previously a highly labor-intensive process that required database restructures during core hours, which meant outages for users. Now it is performed automatically at night during the maintenance window.Automated manual, error-prone load to timesheet Essbase cube. Used Essbase Java API and Groovy to perform data validation and correct most common errors.Installed and configured EPM 11.1.2.4 in distributed environment (across 4 Windows VM servers) for dev, qa, and prod environments. Included Hyperion Planning, Essbase, Shared Services, Foundation Services, EPMA, Hyperion Financial Reporting, EAS, and EPMA.

Created replicated partitions between BSO and ASO databases, reducing data storage requirements by tens of gigabytes and aggregation times by hours, allowing business users more immediate access to data.Rewrote redundant BSO calc scripts in Hyperion Business Rules, allowing parameters to be passed and reducing the number of scripts from 80 to 12, thereby consolidating business logic in one place for increased maintainability.Built ETL process in Perl/Java to load previously-inaccessible Budget data into Essbase, receiving commendation from regional business VP.Participated in implementation of Hyperion Planning; including designing forms, writing calcs scripts/macros, managing metadata through OutlineLoad imports and exports. Performance tuning of Planning forms reduced save times from 2 minutes to 8 seconds. Developed ETL in Perl to move tens of gigabytes of data to/from actuals Essbase cubes 90% faster than Informatica or FDM.

Used Essbase to implement Business Intelligence solutions for clients.Daily usage of MaxL, calc scripts, Essbase Perl module, Essbase Java API, Shared Services Java API, UNIX and Windows shell scripting to implement comprehensive Oracle EPM solutions.
