Data from multiple sensors installed onto the industrial robots was fed through a neural network running on the Azure cloud to predict service requirements and the likelihood of failure of certain parts.

Invented and prototyped various fixtures and tools to improve production quality and yield for the manufacture of surgical instruments. Tested injection molding and sheet stamping protocols for the mass production of device components. Coordinated design, assembly, and testing teams to increase throughput.

Designed a custom LED optical system to detect freezing in magnetically-doped liquid samples. Created a Windows application to monitor and record data from thermocouples while simultaneously checking for freezing of samples.

Improved alternating field (AF) demagnetizing equipment for the analysis of rock core samples, increasing research throughput. Designed and fabricated custom lab apparatus for conducting geophysical lab experiments. Created Windows applications in C# for monitoring and displaying data.

Upgraded a thermal demagnetizing furnace with additional thermocouples for 3D temperature modeling. Programmed a user-friendly Windows application to monitor and execute proportional-integral-derivative (PID) control on the temperature of rock samples, via relay control of the heating coils and air flow.

Modeled HVAC loads and heat transfer in Caltech’s proposed 2013 Solar Decathlon Houses with FEHT software, based on analysis of local weather data. Researched and designed HVAC systems with a focus on the applications of Phase Change Materials (PCM) on passive temperature control and heat retention.
