Over the course of his 30-year career in public education administration, Harry Griffith has accumulated a number of accomplishments as a school superintendent and a community leader. As chief academic officer of ASPIRA Charter Schools from 2012 through 2013, Harry Griffith directed substantial reforms at four Chicago-area schools, resulting in sweeping improvements to middle school student performance. Prior to ASPIRA, Dr. Griffith spent a lengthy tenure as superintendent of Lake Forest School District 67 and Community High School District 115, during which time he turned the five associated schools into model institutions of the Illinois public education system. A former resident of Texas, Dr. Griffith previously served as superintendent of the Goose Creek Consolidated, Pampa, and Ingram Independent School Districts there.Notable for his contributions to the community as well, Dr. Griffith sits on the board of governors of the Lake Forest Open Lands Association, is an advisor to the Lake Forest Symphony, and was recently appointed to the University of Texas College of Education Advisory Council. He holds a PhD and an MEd from the University of Texas at Austin.
