I built a network throughout the U.S. that led to the successful delivery of 4 inward investment projects that created over 100 jobs with salaries well above the private sector medium. I promoted Northern Ireland as a cost effective location for access to high quality technology talent for companies seeking to expand their software development/engineering and tech support centers globally.I focused on the IT sector and had responsibility for New England and New York with a concentration on Cyber Security, Financial Services, Cloud, Big Data, FinTech, Health IT, Robotics and Telecommunications.

Circa 2 years in both Silicon Valley and New York. I conducted market research and analysis, identified key US companies and contacts, created and launched targeting campaigns, provided phone and email follow-up to generate leads and secure quality sales appointments, developed meeting follow up support and location analysis. I attend relevant networking events and conferences to enhance my knowledge of specific sectors, expand my network and grow the sales pipeline. I assisted with event planning and execution, account management and client hospitality. I covered the East and West coast, the entire Midwest and Canada with a focus on IT, Financial Services, Business & Legal Services, Aerospace, Engineering, Renewables and Telecommunications.

I simultaneously managed a number of multi sector visit programs and agreed deliverables for Invest Northern Ireland clients participating on a trade mission to Boston, New York and Toronto. I regularly communicated with clients across a range of sectors and provided advice and support on export development and market entry strategy. I facilitated B2B introductions through my network to help my clients win new business. I localized marketing materials that were tailored to my clients specific target market and co-authored extensive bespoke market research reports to assist with their market entry strategies.

The role primarily involved promoting volunteer activity amongst students within Northern Ireland across all further and higher education institutions including the implementation of a 'student volunteer week' and the organisation of a regional event promoting volunteer opportunities.

Harry was democratically elected by his peers following a successful election campaign. As Chief Executive Officer and political leader of the Students’ Union, Harry had responsibility over Student Union policy and the general administration of the organization. He sat on the NUS-USI regional council and was the Unions’ Director of Finance. He oversaw Students’ Union publications, communications and the annual college elections. He reported monthly to the Students’ Union Council and College Principal. Additionally, Harry represented students on every issue, sat on the Academic Board and College Board of Governors. Harry was also the liaison to the Faculty of Education and oversaw the work of the part time executive team.

The role of the Board of Governors is to manage the college with a view to providing the best possible education and educational opportunities for all students. This involves setting the strategic direction for the college, establishing and maintaining the college’s ethos; setting the college’s plans and policies; monitoring and evaluating college performance and promoting self evaluation to sustain college improvement.

As part of the Socrates Erasmus programme, I was required to teach English as a foreign language. The role involved the planning and delivering of lessons to children and young adults ranging from 3 to 18 in preparation for the Cambridge TESOL exams.
