Devised and delivered a Higher Education and CPD strategy for the largest professional music and entertainment community in Europe. Negotiated validated collaborative partnerships with University of Wales Trinity Saint David and Nottingham Trent University and commercial partner relationships with NYU Steinhardt and Kennesaw State University. Co-wrote, validated, staffed and oversaw marketing for seven MA Programmes, one BA Entry Programme and multiple CPD short courses in music and creative industry skills for on-site and online blended delivery. Project leader on the MA Industry Mentoring Programme and the Tileyard North Steering Group. Student cohort grew to 100 within three years generating £1.2m turnover. Business acquired in 2023 by Nottingham Trent University’s Confetti Institute of Creative Technology.

Freeport Entertainment developed several artist projects and industry education ventures were managed including One Minute Silence, Pink Punk, Circus Normal, Luminous Frenzy, Spa Cru, The Strangers, Get Scene – Get Heard and All You Need To Know About The Music Industry.

I created the youth music social enterprise Urban Collective in London in 2003 with first clients Islington Council, Hackney Council, Arts Council England and The Princes Trust. Over ten years the enterprise raised £1.8m in funding and more than 900 NEET 15-25s completed the 12-week free music education programme in five cities across the UK including Belfast, Glasgow, Hull and Manchester. I have been commissioned by several Higher Education institutions to author, validate, staff, launch and lead on creative industry HE modules and full BA programmes for clients including City University, BIMM, SAE, SSR and Krems University Danube. Additional activities included lecturing, mentoring, the development of industry mentoring and work-based learning programmes, industry networking days, in-house record labels, live industry showcase events and the booking of annual masterclass guest speakers.

As a founder member of Creative Islington I was part of the original team that defined the community organization, launched the service, oversaw the build of the website and managed multiple community engagement projects in partnership with Islington Council.

I was headhunted following the publication of my MBA thesis (The Download Road to Where?) by Chris Sheffield, founder of digital media solutions company Eunite, to account direct the company’s music and entertainment sectors. Clients included Radio Revolution, Food of Love, Universal Music and Liverpool Football Club. Eunite sold to N Brown Group / JD Williams in late 2002 for a reported £21m.

I freelanced as a production and satellite coordinator and news researcher for various network television news broadcasters and agencies. I covered Rwanda, the death of Princess Diana and many other major events over four years.
