The Monash University Wind Tunnel (MWT) is a world-leading laboratory specialising in bespoke experimental and numerical aerodynamic services. MWT manages projects addressing fundamental research questions and provides consulting services to industry clients and partners in sectors ranging from energy to sports performance. In my role as a Research Officer, I manage and deliver projects while ensuring the seamless operation of the facilities on a daily basis, promptly resolving any issues as they arise.Achievements:• Contributed to high-performance sporting results at the elite level.• Implemented standardised procedures for data acquisition and recording. • Delivered high-quality presentations and reports to commercial clients and research partners. • Supervised several honours students who successfully completed their degrees.

My PhD candidature studied the evaporation of medical inhaler droplets both numerically and experimentally. This experience enhanced my extensive technical knowledge in data analysis, collection, conditioning, and storage, numerical and phenomenological modelling, experimental design, coding, automation, mathematics, and engineering. In addition to the technical aspects, I refined my communication, problem-solving, and project management skills. As a result of Covid-19 setbacks, I chose to withdraw in good standing. Nevertheless, I am confident the training I received has and will continue to enable me to flourish in professional settings.Achievements• Awarded the Maxwell-King Scholarship for the highest academic merit across the University. • Recipient of the Monash Graduate Excellence Scholarship. • Awarded ‘Poster on the Podium’ at the Respiratory Drug Delivery Conference 2021. • Utilised my technical expertise to assist in the delivery of content for an indigenous engagement program. • Published as a first author at several conference proceedings both domestically and internationally. • Contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications in Q1 journals.

Teaching undergraduate students at Monash University, I had the privilege to not only help shape future generations of engineers, but also an opportunity to develop my interpersonal, management, and presentation skills. I was part of several teams responsible for delivering content through various pedagogical approaches. Over a 5-year period I taught fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, propulsion and final year engineering design.Achievements:• Scored the highest result in the student evaluation surveys (SETU) within the department. • Translated teaching content to online delivery to enable student education during lockdowns. • Delivered content in lecture-style presentations to entire cohorts during unforeseen circumstances. • Received written personal positive feedback from several students following the completion of units.

Beginning as a summer research student, I supported a range of research activities at the wind tunnel in 2015. Following the successful presentation of my work placing first in the select entry program, I was offered part-time employment as a Research Assistant alongside my undergraduate studies. During this time, the wind tunnel was primarily focused on commercial consulting and testing. My role focused on facilitating testing with clients and contributing to independent and collaborative research projects.Achievements:• Effectively prepared and communicated project outcomes, placing first in a faculty wide poster presentation. • Developed an experimental project from conceptualisation through to data collection and analysis whose results were published in a Q1 journal. • Completed the Summer Research Student Program and received a Summer Research Scholarship. • Presented reports and presentations to resolve client issues and deliver project outcomes.
