I'm a software development manager who is excited about leading cross-functional agile teams in the development and delivery of software products and services. I use quality centered, agile software development processes to turn customer, market and business requirements into compliant, robust, easy to use, on-time deployments of products that customers are delighted to use. I spent years as a software engineer which gives me credibility with my reports as a manager who knows how to develop and test software. I've been there, coded that and I have the nerdy T-shirts to prove it.I enjoy helping companies who want to go fully agile, who have quality and scheduling issues, who want to firm up their processes and procedures for improvement, for compliance and for increased productivity. I can help them with regulations and audits, with internationalization and localization, with technical and legal decisions for third party software in buy vs. build decisions. I can help to make your products ready for real users, rolled out as delivered and deployed software and services in global markets.I like hiring new staff, mentoring and training new and existing reports, goal and career path setting and even performance reviews. It's important that everyone in the organization has the opportunity to grow personally and professionally and I like helping my reports to gain skills, move ahead in their careers and transfer to new tracks.Another aspect of past projects to which I've really made an impact is the internationalization and localization of user interfaces and documentation into multiple languages. Understanding other cultures and market needs is the key here. Translating the text isn't enough, you really need to understand the in-country users to fully satisfy those customers.
