Operates and commands aircraft under tactical and nontactical conditions. Operates aircraft during all types of meteorological conditions during the day, night and under night-vision systems. Performs all military aircraft operations (e.g., reconnaissance, security, gunnery, rescue, air assault, mine/flare delivery, internal/external load and paradrop/rappelling operations). Performs aerial route, zone and/or area reconnaissance in support of combat maneuver operations. Routinely participates in real-time and training operations that include combat, combat support or combat service support operations. Additionally, performs administrative or liaison missions to transport passengers, mail or cargo for military purposes. Maintains aviator flight requirements in accordance with appropriate aircraft Aircrew Training Manual.

Organizes, develops, and conducts the aviation safety program for the Unit level. Reviews, interprets, and disseminates policies and directives relative to aviation safety, and Safety of Flight messages to take appropriate action regarding safety requirements. Prepares recurring and special reports. Serves as technical consultant and advisor to the Unit Commander, regarding aviation safety policy, technical guides, and standards, promotes Unit safety, resolve problems, and exchange information. Prepares and presents aviation and ground safety training to Unit personnel, develops and disseminates aviation safety promotional material. Conducts regular surveys and inspections of aviation operations, facilities, and equipment including ground and industrial safety functions directly related to hanger safety to ensure compliance with established occupational safety standards and requirements. Identifies hazards and unsafe conditions and practices; reviews records and technical publications to assure flight safety programs are complete; and develops and recommends changes or corrections to control or prevent hazards. Investigates aircraft mishaps. Interviews witness and completes fact finding inquiries. Analyzes information and report findings, identifying causes, methods, and techniques to reduce, eliminate, or control the hazards and minimize the potential of recurrence. Reviews plans for proposed demonstrations, exhibits, exercises, or contingencies to ensure the safety of Army personnel and the public. Maintains close liaison with other staff offices in all relevant aviation safety matters.

Conducts initial entry training for newly enlisted personnel; instructs and assists in the training of basic combat tasks to recruits; develops recruits in discipline, physical fitness, military bearing, personal hygiene, first aid, pride in military and country; trains recruits in drill and ceremonies, basic rifle marksmanship and maintenance of assigned equipment; provides instruction on military history, customs, courtesies and military regulations.

Managed all aspects of Military Working Dog (MWD) including general dog care, basic medical assessment, basic treatment, briefed unit commanders on MWD’s capabilities, recommended tactical employment for MWD and other MWD teams, and coordinates medical, transportation, and supply issues. Supervised 11 other MWD teams and equipment excessing over 1 million dollars throughout RC East, Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom XII while ensuring proper utilization and maintenance. Unrelenting in conducting/planning required proficiency skill training for all MWD teams and completed training records as required. Deployed as an explosive detection canine team increasing unit’s standoff from explosives, weapons, and ammunition in all types of mission scenarios. Primary instructor and advisor in matters of personnel management, junior leader development, and combat tactics. Managed individual training and maintenance of weapons and equipment. Led an Airborne Infantry Rifle Squad with two teams proficient at independent/simultaneous maneuvers capable deploying worldwide within 18 hours to conduct offensive, defensive, sustainment, counter insurgency, and humanitarian operations in combat conditions totaling over 3 years. Ensured operations achieved the goals, policies, and objectives of the National Command Authority and the United States.
