•Conducted an experimental work on “Design and Development of Solar Flat Plate Collector Using SiO2 Nanofluid” for senior year project work using ASHRAE standard •Played a role in designing and modeling of all the parts and built an experimental setup•Gathered and analyzed data to increase the knowledge of solar energy and nanomaterials with the continuous association and kept the cost of the project under the limit.•Different concentration of Nanofluid was used from 0.01% to 0.1%. The size of Nanoparticles is 15-20nm with 99.9% purity. The mass flow rate was fixed at 2 Lit/min. • The efficiency of a flat-plate solar collector was investigated experimentally and achieved higher efficiency by using SiO2 Nano-fluid as a working fluid compared to water as a working fluid.•Published a research paper on “Enhancement of Thermal Performance of Solar Flat Plate Collector Using SiO2 Nanofluid” in i-manager’s Journal on Future Engineering and Technology in Vol 12 No. 4 on page number 33 to 40 in May- July 2017
