Hello!Welcome to my profile.I am a Naval Architect with a PhD and several years of work experience. Though my expertise lies within marine structures and ship design, I have also worked with other branches of Naval Architecture. In my current role I work with seakeeping, hydrodynamics and route optimization. Here, I have been combining my naval architecture skills with software development in C#.Since this is a critical time for Earth in terms of making our environment sustainable, we must join hands to innovate and come up with sustainable solutions. Please reach out if you want to discuss ideas. The principal outcomes, their inferences and associated weblinks are summarized below.🛳️ Developed standard hull-forms to propose a ferry product family using platform architecture and modular design. 👍Inference: It will be possible to have standardized ferries across the world, similar to buses or trains.Further reading: https://doi.org/10.3233/isp-210016🛳️ Developed a holistic system of evaluating system performance based on economic, social, and environmental parameters. 👍Inference: The system enables objective decision-making while (a) comparing ferries against operational requirements, (b) refurbishing existing ferries and (c) assembling a modular ferry. Read more: https://doi.org/10.3390/su14063680🧊 Developed an ice-hull interaction model as a digital twin to real scenarios.👍Inference: One can save high costs associated with experiments by doing simulations to evaluate structural loads in ice.Further reading: (1) https://doi.org/10.1115/1.4041015 (2) https://doi.org/10.3390/jmse10060794 (3) update in progress🛳️ Developed a novel lightweight hull structure for ship operations in ice. 👍Inference: Lightweight ice going hulls will reduce emissions, fuel consumption and increase payload capacity, making it more sustainable.Further reading: (1) https://doi.org/10.3390/jmse10030416 (2) https://doi.org/10.3390/jmse10060794 (3) update in progress🧑💻 Developed a machine learning model to improve FEM simulation time.♻️ Conducted life cycle analysis for costs and emissions for ice going hulls.🧑🏫 Supervised graduate students and taught courses in the department.🤝 Extensively collaborated between industry and universities in Sweden and abroad.

As a research engineer, I collaborated closely with the public transport provider and a barge operating company in Stockholm. The outcomes of my work and associated publications are summarised below.🛳️ Identified 7 principal challenges of waterborne urban mobility today through inspections and collaborations. 🎯 Inference: Any public transport provider must keep these 7 factors in mind. Further reading: http://urn.kb.se/resolve?urn=urn:nbn:se:kth:diva-287834🛳️ Published findings comparing waterborne public transportation systems around the world.🎯 Inference: A good start for public transport providers to see what other countries are doing.Further reading: https://doi.org/10.13140/RG.2.2.32606.69446🛳️ Evaluated and modelled passenger preferences aboard ferries. 🎯 Inference: We answered the fundamental question – Why do passengers prefer ferries over other modes of transport?Further reading: (1) https://doi.org/10.1016/j.tbs.2019.02.002 (2) https://doi.org/10.1177/0361198118782275🧊 Investigated the local freshwater ice conditions in Stockholm region followed by a probabilistic and statistical analysis on them.🎯 Inference: This gives a good estimate on what ice thickness and ice type are likely during different months of the year.
