About Harshad Bari

I am a 20 years veteran in the Industry and my experience is well-versed in a variety of projects ranging from Feature Films, Short-films, Game Cinematic to Motion Capture Projects. I started as a layout Artist and have worked with Rigging, Simulation and writing Tools for 18 of those years.I love problem-solving, writing tools to support artists, and increasing long-term efficiency. My goal is to work in a dynamic environment, on good projects with a great team. I have a strong passion for working on Stylized characters, Rigging and writing tools in Autodesk Maya. I have worked with various softwares over the years and I am proficient and primarily working with Maya at the moment.As a Creature TD, Senior Character Rigger and Project Lead, I have been responsible for building and maintaining complex Rigging systems for human, creature and mechanical characters. I also collaborate with animators, modelers and the tech team to ensure the quality, aesthetics, data integrity and performance of the Rigs.My major interest is in diving deep into the PySide2/Qt system to make aesthetic UIs. I have worked extensively with the Qt Graphics View Framework.

    As a CreatureTD I worked on different kind of rigs, developing tools with MEL & Python,Cloth, Hair. This project is a Feature Film “Strange Magic” which released in January this year (2015). After working exclusively on Rigging (including cloth sims setup), I moved to simulation where our team worked on cloth/hair/rigid simulations on shots for the entire show. Simulations were done on ILM’s proprietary software “Zeno” where I also created personal scripts to automate my daily simulation workflow. I worked closely with my Creature Dev supervisor and animators to develop animation-friendly rigs, guidelines according to project requirements and created various scripts/instructions to increase riggers and animators efficiency.Projects:Strange Magic(Feature Animated Film) Character/Creature Setups, integrated with full custom setups/muscles/cloth/hair.Sculpting deformation shapes for rigged characters to be used as pose-driven blend-shapes.Create animation/rigging tools for internal workflow Cloth & Hair simulation on hundreds of shots.
