“Start with what is right rather than what is acceptable.” This quote by Franz Kafka defines my attitude at work.I moved to Taiwan in 2019 to join SHL Medical. My role has evolved over the years — from computer system validation and data privacy to business applications and software development. I am lucky to have the front seat on the end-to-end digitalisation journey that coincided with the start of my time at SHL and will continue for the foreseeable future. I am responsible for the maintenance and improvement of our enterprise business applications as we steadily digitise our business operations and establish new manufacturing and assembly sites. A typical week involves brainstorming with our core team of IT functional experts, software developers, business process owners, and external consultants. We evaluate and prioritize program, project, and operational requirements, and mobilise resources for their implementation. I also support our IT Risk & Compliance team with risk assessments, and I help program manage system implementation projects. Early in my career I taught high school Economics at my alma mater. In my time at EY, I also led a team of bright, young professionals starting out their careers. Through these experiences I developed an appreciation for the important role good mentorship can play in the early years. Today this helps me build teams and counsel fresh graduates beginning their careers.I have recently moved to Switzerland with my family. I am excited to step into a global role at our Swiss office and continue our personal and professional journey here. Ask me anything about watches and fountain pens.
