During my internship, my team focused on simulating the WannaCry Ransomware attack within a secure virtual environment. We replicated the attack using the same exploit and exploited the same vulnerability as the hackers, gaining valuable insights into the vulnerabilities and potential impact. We then mapped the attack onto the MITRE ATT&CK framework, identifying specific tactics and techniques employed by the attackers. This collaborative effort was crucial in developing effective defense strategies and mitigating future ransomware attacks.
