My role in this internship was a consultant intern, and I was in a team of 5 people. Our client was theSydney Improvised Music Association (SIMA). They wanted to develop a mobile app for both Androidand iOS, and they gave us a project brief, and some designs they thought of for the app. Myresponsibility was to work mainly on the frontend of the app, which involved fetching data from ourbackend API and then displaying the data nicely in the app. As part of the project handover, our teamalso completed the process of submitting apps for review on both the Apple App Store and theGoogle Play Store. As of writing this, the app is available on the Australian Google Play Store.

My responsibility was to make a Python script that would take a folder and use OCR to read text fromimages, pdfs, docx, xlsx files in the folder. The output would be written to a .json file in a specificformat, which was provided to me by the technical team. They uploaded the .json file to theirMongoDB server. This Python script was run on documents downloaded from specific onion links provided to me by the technical team. The purpose of using OCR on these documents was to identify which companies were the targets of data breaches.
