The task of identifying, quantifying and verifying the advantages offered by quantum algorithms and computing remains an active pursuit, and arguably the most important open question plaguing quantum technology. Though the advantages offered by quantum computing are firmly rooted in science and are widely believed to hold for an ideal quantum device; however, the prospect of realizing of such an ideal device is years away. Nevertheless, the Noisy Intermediate Scale Quantum (NISQ), and (few qubit) Quantum Error Correction (QEC) based devices seem feasible in the near future and are suited for a subset of quantum tailored problems. In my current assignment, I plan to benchmark the purported advantages offered by the algorithms realizable on the NISQ and QEC devices using the Metric-Noise-Resource (MNR) framework. In a dynamic research career spanning more than five years, I have explored diverse fields within the quantum domain such as quantum spin chains for quantum information transfer and many-body localization, gravitational effects in quantum systems, quantum processes, thermometry and thermodynamics. After having worked extensively in such novel theoretical streams, I have pivoted towards applications of quantum technology.
