Hair cells are the mechanotransducers that are crucial to hearing. My research involved the discovery of a novel protein expressed in the mammalian hair cells of the inner ear. The protein is expressed around the junctional regions making it a potential part of the HC-SC barrier. Further studies on its role to prevent hearing loss is now in progress.

Organized and co-ordinated several activities for the graduate student organization at Case. During my leadership tenure, Tarang, an annual event organized by Satrang had unparalleled success due to my innovative ideas to market the event. Responsible for the makeover to professional marketing of the event by introducing promotional videos, sponsorship.

As an intern in the genetic counseling department, I had the opportunity to observe genetic counseling sessions and evaluate a spectrum of genetic disorders including Angelman syndrome, Williams syndrome, Klinefelters syndrome and Down syndrome.
