About Harsh Mehta

I am an Engineer by profession, a technologist and a foodie at heart.In my current role, I have rejoined our Engineering team to build the next generation wireless lighting control system. Having served in multiple roles in various departments of Lutron over the 10 years, I have not only developed a holistic understanding how our customers use our products but also the needs our of our dealers, distributors and service representatives. This allows me to become the voice of our customer and really drive engineering teams to design for simplicity, scalability and flexibility. In addition to that I am also an advocate for upholding a high benchmark for the quality of products and software we build.Previously, I served in an international role to help our service representatives provide the best experience to our customers and integrators. I catered to multiple regions such as Middle east, India, Singapore and London area. My job was to continuously help improve our systems and processes in the Technical Support, Customer Service, Field Service and Project Management departments. I primarily served as a single point of contact for all quality related issues for all of the mentioned countries. Having previously worked in Engineering I was able to provide bridge the communication between our Engineering R&D, Quality Org and all our field facing departments. This really helped cut down the total time and effort to solve our customers’ issues.In my role before that, I used to manage and lead our Offshore Development Center(India Engineering) and lead a team of engineers to develop a cutting edge solution in the lighting industry for commercial spaces. My team and I worked on building the embedded software that makes Lutron's lighting control systems one of the best in the industry. The combined network of devices and sensors made smart decisions about the lights keeping the occupants productive and happy all while keeping the energy consumption low.In the past roles, I wrote low level software for embedded systems devices using C/C++ for micro-controllers. In addition to that, I have also worked on automating the test process to cut down test time by many folds thereby speeding up time to qualify.Apart from being a techie, I am fan of extreme sports, admirer of art and a foodie. I love flying in air, diving in deep seas, jumping from planes and thrilling at high speeds. For anyone who share similar interests, feel free to contact me.
