I am currently a 3rd year undergraduate Biological Sciences student, studying at the University of Leeds. I have had the opportunity to carry out laboratory experiments in both molecular and microbiology disciplines which has fuelled my passion to further my career in R&D. I have a keen interest in immunology and bioinformatics and wish to expand my knowledge within this sector. I have also carried out comparative genomic techniques using Galaxy enabling me to understand the importance of bioinformatics in the process of advancing the medical and food industry. Throughout my degree, I have experienced working in multiple group environments which has enhanced both my verbal and written communication skills. Additionally, carrying out research tasks and implementing my can-do attitude has enabled me to achieve and exceed high standards. Alongside my degree, I am also the Donor Recruitment Coordinator for Leeds Marrow Society, helping those with blood cancer. Spreading awareness about blood cancer and continuously volunteering within and outside of my community is a passion of mine, as I always like to give back when I can. Outside of academia, I am an individual who enjoys participating in team sports, which include: Badminton and Girl's Football. I also find pleasure in nurturing my mental and physical health through regular gym sessions, ensuring that I keep up my fitness so that I can perform to the best of my ability. Additionally, I like to paint and knit in my free time to help improve my dexterity and to also relax. These experiences have enabled me to develop a well-rounded personality allowing me to effectively and comfortably communicate with others. It also reflects the dedication and motivation that I bring to every endeavour I undertake.
