Everyone remembers their first professional compliment. For me, months after surviving a summer PR internship, my hiring manager said to me: "You're not the loudest person in the room, but when you speak, I listen." Twenty years later, I still work to earn that compliment. I appreciate the privilege of being the storyteller behind the curtains. As the Senior Director of Global Enterprise Communications, I build communications strategies around multi-brand/portfolio announcements focused on both business and consumer audiences, from Hilton for Business to Wellness and F&B initiatives. Since 2021, I’ve led the creation, cross-team collaboration and media strategy for our annual Trends Report, which spotlights the company’s industry-leading innovations and generates earned media throughout the year. Arriving at Hilton 10 years ago, I brought nearly a decade of global agency experience. I spent my early years in PR at Burson-Marsteller, building the core tenets of agency survival: strong writing/communication, attention to detail and client service. From helping to launch SPAM's Twitter account to introducing a live wheat field to the NYC financial district for the Wheat Foods Council, there was never a dull moment. Edelman was my next stop on the agency tour, where I worked with a number of Fortune 500 companies, including Darden, Hilton and SC Johnson. There, I expanded my focus from the U.S. to the world - managing teams in both EMEA and APAC, helping to establish Edelman’s first Istanbul office and taking on an international assignment in Tokyo. Between passport stamps, I fell in love with hospitality.That passion for travel transported me from Chicago to D.C. to join Hilton's Portfolio Communications team. In that role, I established the multi-brand Creative Newsroom and introduced and supported Hilton's Live Nation partnership. Next, I led DoubleTree by Hilton communications, developing the first-ever Cook(ie) Book and establishing the successful 12 Days of Cookies holiday campaign. I then took on leading the PR efforts for the flagship brand Hilton Hotels & Resorts and introduced the Signia by Hilton brand. Between flights, my luggage and I reside in Washington, D.C.
