Andiron Group primarily supports early- to mid-stage ventures and uses communications to rapidly build a sustainable business or shape a profitable exit.As a founding member and Senior Media Analyst, my responsibilities included; - Developing and executing earned media strategies for a diverse range of clients in industries including cyber security, education, shared mobility, technology, renewable energy, fashion, and lifestyle/hospitality. - Crafting high-quality external editorial content including thought leadership articles and whitepapers which frequently secured high-level media coverage.- Analysing client data sets to uncover industry trends and developing targeted media pitches based on the insights. - Conducting media training and briefing sessions for client spokespeople and securing media interviews across tier-one, broadcast, and industry titles.- Developing corporate communications content including website copy, blogs, LinkedIn articles, and newsletters. - Managing a diverse pool of copy writers and content creators, and providing editorial and creative guidance (including briefing writers and editing submitted content, drafting scripts for video editors/animators, and working closely with collaborators to ensure client expectations are always exceeded). - Managing client social media channels. - Working closely with client founders and executives to distil their vision into a cohesive and coherent set of key messages which shape all external communication touch points.- Creating and executing crisis communications strategies. - Developing and nurturing relationships with key media and industry contacts.

Watterson Marketing Communications is an independent, boutique public relations firm which prides itself on its pro-active style and reputation for developing highly effective and creative media relations campaigns. It has a particular focus on enterprise technology. I was responsible for the simultaneous management of several client accounts, covering technologies and services ranging from cyber security and systems integration, to networking and application performance. Key responsibilities included: Developing and executing media relations strategies at global, regional and local levels, with a particular expertise in Australia and New Zealand. Drafting and editing content including byline and opinion editorials, speeches, press releases, keynote presentations and blog posts.Drafting and editing internal communications, corporate case studies and newsletters. Securing high-level media coverage in tier one broadcast, print and online media while continuing momentum in trade and vertical publications.Maintaining a keen understanding of economic, industrial and political trends affecting clients and securing rapid response interviews for spokespeople on same.Preparing and briefing executives for media interviews.Developing crisis management response strategies and key messages.Advising on social media strategies, particularly during crises. Gold Coast

I covered multiple beats and patches during my time with News Corp and Gold Coast Publications. These included: A-League Correspondent – I was the Gold Coast Bulletin's dedicated A-League Correspondent, covering Gold Coast United's 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons. This included travelling to interstate matches and writing post-game analysis and matchday reports, matchday previews, player profiles and feature articles, and general news related to the A-League and Gold Coast United (including the initial stages of the venture’s collapse). Tweed Sun/Tweed Bulletin – Working from the Bulletin's Tweed Heads office, I was a general news reporter covering breaking news and community news between Byron Bay and the NSW/QLD border.Gold Coast Bulletin – As a general news reporter for the Gold Coast Bulletin, I covered everything from court cases to local politics, tourism to urban development, and everything in between. Gold Coast Sun – I was the Gold Coast Sun Central Edition reporter covering general and community news. This patch included Surfers Paradise and Main Beach to the north, Mermaid Beach to south, and the Gold Coast Hinterland to the West.
