I am an Emeritus Reader in Technology Enhanced Learning at UCL Institute of Education, University College London where I worked from 1986 to 2010. In that time I taught on the Master’s degree in ICT in Education, supervised PhD students in the field of Technology Enhanced Learning, and was Head of the Learning Technologies Unit coordinating the implementation of e-learning across the Institute of Education. I carried out a wide range of research activities in the field of Technology Enhanced Learning supported by UK and EU funding bodies, including work on on-line learning, pedagogic design patterns, quality assurance and quality enhancement for e-learning and e-assessment, and the use of e-learning with adult Skills for Life learners.
