I took a year out before applying to university to ensure it was the right decision for me. In this gap year I completed an internship at Vivienne Westwood initially in the archive. This work experience with the fashion industry specifically helping collate the Vivienne Westwood New york MET museum collection has helped develop my creative skills and ability to think about brand image and develop an emotional connection between customers and products. It led to the final weeks of the internship working in the high intensity 'press department' of the company. In which I expanded my communication skills and attention to detail. Working in the fast-paced environment of hospitality, waiting, and catering at weddings has honed my organisational and interpersonal skills. It was challenging at times however, I'm confident in my ability to lead a waiting team to a successful plated meal service.My most recent work experience is at the Artisan Deli Market on Dyke Street working as the shop manager. This role has allowed my judgment over business decisions and thus helped my leadership and organisation skills. It has also fulfilled my passion for cooking and allowed me to serve my creations to customers. I aspire to soon be my own manager and lead a successful team in the food and beverage industry. I've always had a profound interest in catering and mixing this with my knowledge of business creates a desire to be an entrepreneur in this industry. This course has ignited this interest and has advanced my business acumen.In my final year Module Developing Professional practice in Business, we are undertaking an exciting client-project task in which we are helping Martlets hospice and their methods to get into touch with hard-to-reach communities. We have targeted the Asian population as they are receiving very little end-of-life care. We decided to ask why this was the case, and we discovered via interviews and questionnaires that it was due to different cultural beliefs and requirements. We are proposing strategies to bridge this gap between typical hospice care and certain traditions within the Asian community. This project has been engaging and informative from start to finish and the team has worked extremely well together. T
