Rich Harvey is a seasoned executive with more than twenty years of experience in digital media and communications solutions. Rich started his career with a leadership role in the US Navy as a work center supervisor, Master-at-Arms, and manager of USS Suribachi's SITE system. Upon leaving the service he joined Tiernan Communications, a successful San Diego based early stage company serving the major TV networks with high value digital media technology. Within a short period he became Sales Manager of Asia for its digital video products. Rich was employed in a similar role at EVS Broadcast Systems, a multi-national company serving US and International broadcasters with advanced digital media server systems. As a Product Manager with Fujitsu Rich guided the Advanced Compression product line to meet the needs of customers world wide ensuring Fujitsu held a leadership position in the move to H.265 and IP based contribution and primary distribution. Rich has been involved with some of the industries digital mile-stones including Navy Broadcast Service’s digital satellite broadcast tests in 1991, ABC’s ATSC turn on, first HD broadcast in Sydney Australia, first commercial ATSC broadcast in South Korea, first MPEG-2 4:2:2 transmission over an ATM network, and more.Rich has been involved with Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) and was Adhoc group EG/RP-2050-1/2 secretary. He continues to advocate for industry standards that will benefit both consumers and content providers.
