As Deputy CEO I work with our CEO to:- develop the vision and strategic goals for Ribble Rivers Trust, - lead and grow a talented and collaborative team to develop and implement projects and plans with suitable funding,- manage resources and budgets and forecast spend, - ensure we are communicating effectively internally and externally, - work with the Board of Trustees on strategy and governance, - sustain a positive culture in our organisation that is in line with our purpose and values.Day to day I still lead the People & Learning team and lead several key projects, including:- Health & Environmental Action Lancashire (HEAL)Prioritising disadvantaged communities and those with long-term health conditions, HEAL will: Connect people with nature across the Ribble, Lune and Wyre Catchments, protect species, create and restore habitats, safeguard and create jobs in Lancashire’s environmental sector.- TributreesTributrees uses Ribble Rivers Trust's innovative tree planting prioritisation tool to focus delivery on where woodland creation will deliver multiple benefits for people and nature in the Ribble Catchment. This five year programme links with our wider tree planting campaign - Lancashire Woodland Connect - and other programmes such as HEAL, with the aim of enhancing 50km of river water bodies and plant around 20Ha of woodland.- Ribble Life Catchment PartnershipThis partnership embeds collaborative working at a river catchment scale to deliver cross-cutting improvements to our water environments. Ribble Life is arguably one of the UK’s most successful partnerships.- Ribble Life Together (see below)I joined Ribble Rivers Trust in November 2015 as Programme Manager for the Ribble Life Together project. I was promoted to Head of Learning & Engagement in April 2020 and Deputy CEO in October 2021.

As Head of People & Learning I lead our partnership and engagement activities, including: the Ribble Life Catchment Partnership, volunteering, environmental education, community projects, work experience placements, apprenticeships, training and events.

I am still responsible for the Ribble Life Together project from development to delivery, including: working with communities, partner organisations and colleagues to plan and prioritise work, securing match funding, monitoring progress and achieving the objectives and outcomes of this £3.8million project.Ribble Life Together is a collaborative project that will deliver a substantially healthier Ribble Catchment by 2020. We’ll celebrate the heritage of the river, improve access and use the river to inspire and educate. Through practical environmental action, based on science, we’ll leave a positive legacy for future generations.This programme includes 14 weir removal or fish pass creation projects, the creation of 30 new woodlands and 14 wetland projects. It also includes a range of education and engagement activities such as bat walks, sketch workshops, volunteering and the creation of a new podcast called Talking Rivers. The programme has reached thousands of people across Lancashire and North Yorkshire and is developing new partnership and improving how environmental charities, public bodies and local businesses work together to protect and improve our water resources and the wider environment.

Listening Tree CIC is a counselling consultancy and training service dedicated to improving emotional well-being and mental health in children and young people. It provides support both directly and indirectly to children, young people, school staff and other professionals through training, supervision and consultancy.With the other Directors I had overall collective responsibility for the direction and financial stability of the organisation, supporting its strategic development and management.I was a founder Director, helping set up and grow the business, which continues to offer valuable to services to Lancashire communities.

With the other Directors/Trustees I had overall collective responsibility for the direction and financial stability of the organisation. I joined Third Sector Lancashire as a Trustee when its purpose was to provide a collective voice for Third Sector organisations in Lancashire. During my tenure we incorporated the charity and, in response to local needs, changed the focus to working for better health and care in Lancashire. My specific contribution included representing the perspective of youth organisations and my experience of organisational development and charity governance.

Lancashire Global Education Centre works in the formal education and community sectors to ensure that people in Lancashire learn about global issues such as poverty and sustainable development.With the other Directors/Trustees I had overall collective responsibility for the direction and financial stability of the organisation, supporting the Executive Director in the day to day leadership and management of the organisation.

Informing, supporting and representing youth organisations across Lancashire, helping them achieve the highest standards of practice and effectiveness in their work with young people and the community.My role involved the management and development of staff, deputising for the Chief Officer when required, the development and delivery of programmes of work, training, events and support services to voluntary and community organisations, developing collaborative solutions, including consortium development, development and management of partnerships and relationships with other agencies, increasing the use of quality standardsin youth organisations, and the production of reports for funders and other stakeholders.

Leading a team of 5 Gardeners and 1 Park Ranger to maintain, develop and promote a Grade II listed Victorian park. This included:- The development and implementation of a management and maintenance plan and marketing strategy.- Being the park's first point of contact for the public and spokesperson with the media.- The management of a large community building housing an office, cafe and function rooms. - Working in partnership with community groups and other organisations.- Developing and implementing an annual events programme. - Playing a key role in the development and delivery of a multi-million pound heritage restoration scheme.

Supporting local community groups and schools to promote and develop community food growing projects. Working with these groups to raise funds, plan, manage and promote their projects.

Working in a variety of urban and semi-rural parks in Preston supporting community groups and developing and running events and environmental education sessions. Using excellent interpersonal skills to respond to the needs of park users and provide high quality customer service.

Various part-time and seasonal positions with North Lincolnshire Council as a front line member of staff developing excellent communication and customer service skills. I worked at Normanby Hall Country Park and Ancholme Leisure Centre.
