My role at PCS was to design & develop a website to act as a marketing & communication portal for the school. I worked with the heads of departments to create a website that reflects both the school’s overall message but is also a hub of activity for students and parents, detailing all daily, weekly and term based activities and information for each subject. I was then responsible for all digital marketing of the site (SEO) ensuring the layout and design works well with both traditional and advanced mobile browsers. I do print as well as web design, from letterheads through to posters for productions & events. As well as being photographer, cameraman & editor.I constructed http://www.phcs.org.uk/ using a fluid site design to fit most screen resolutions, with the majority of it easily controlled with CSS to work with most browsers but in particular Firefox and Internet Explorer. I have used includes for the header, footer and sidebars so that it is easier to update these throughout the site, which means using .shtml.Technologies I have used in creating and running the site are;Adobe CS6, mainly Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash & PremiereCSS, Html, Shtml, ASP, PHP, XML, Javascript & HighslideJS.On a daily basis I work closely with the management team to make sure all content both internal & external is correct and up to date, especially as some of the content can be time critical during exams & school closures due to adverse weather conditions. I am also heavily involved in general marketing activity for the school including all advertising & print copy, and have sourced new additional funding for 2 of the departments via education grants and private sector initiatives. I attend and promote all external school activities, to source content for the galleries and I have worked closely with local TV & local press to PR such events.
