Notable projects• Value Chain Optimization: Built a machine Learning model to improve feed purchase decisions for Value Chain Optimization organization by being able to predict feed qualities rather than needing time consuming lab testing. Margin improvement of $ 4 MM/yr.• SKU rationalization: Provided SKU rationalization recommendations to sales group using formulation inventory and SAP data to compare SKUs based on similarity, allowing the organization to streamline the chemicals portfolio and focus on ~20% of the products that contribute to over 90% of the revenue. Presented these findings with senior management and executives as actionable insights / visualizations to inform the company’s long range renewable fuels strategy. • NLP: Created a classification model and a text similarity model for categorizing Legal Records and to identify ‘similar’ claims respectively to streamline and automate manual tasks for the legal teams. Total time savings of $2 MM/yr. • Data science Training: Taught a class on autoencoders for anomaly detection for data scientists and engineers to detect anomalies in machinery using IOT data and predict equipment failure

Provided advanced process planning technical services to refinery supply chain organizations. Undertook complex LP modeling studies in support of long-range operating plans, facility capital plans and response to changing business conditions.

Stewarded reliability and profit improvement projects with a focus on data driven, risk-based solutions to high value equipment reliability problems across the refinery. Used data analytics to predict future equipment failure and analyze reliability improvement projects in terms of Total Cost of ownership for equipment and Rate of Return on investments. Managed refinery assets and operations for complex refining units with combined throughput of over 100,000 Barrels per Day - 2 stage hydrocracker, FCC Pre-treater, Cooling Water System, and Gas Recovery Unit.Provided leadership and coordination for capital and expense projects, budget tracking, work process improvements, reliability improvement efforts, and turnaround planning and execution. Supported plant operations for Base Oil Hydrocracking and De-waxing units, Crude Unit, Deisel/Jet/Gasoline Hydrotreaters by providing day-to-day technical guidance and process monitoring to ensure safe, reliable, and profitable operation.Notable AchievementsResponsible Process engineer for planning phase through execution for maintenance turnaround. Responsible for scoping, detailed engineering and execution of 4 major projects on Base Oil Plant (catalyst selection, column upgrades and modifications, Heat Exchanger Design, etc.) These improvements provided a benefit of $ 12 Million/year.Collaborated with the Business Planning group to improve the prediction model of a Base Oil Plant by creating a regression model to better predict the impact of feed type on the yield of the high value product. The overall project was worth $10 Million/year in lower feed purchase prices.

Performed critical plant design functions such as Process simulation, Heat and Material Balances (H&MB), equipment design, HAZOPs and creation of operating guidelines for Engineering Design Packages and debottleneck studies. Customer facing role responsible for ensuring engineering work is per accepted engineering best practices and meets industry/chevron standards.

Created E-2-E manufacturing process to reduce 'drag' in a bar soap by working with manufacturing operations and conducted randomized controlled trials to show marked improvement in user experience.
