Few recent ones include:1) Developed roadmap for institutional reforms, as Lead Advisor for Planning Commission’s flagship program in Pakistan, aimed at reform and innovation in service delivery and improved performance, while developing capacity at Planning Commission to spearhead the reform process2) Member of Government of Pakistan’s committee on civil service performance-based remuneration reforms3) Undertook review of sub-national provincial planning regime, including provincial institutional regime vis-à-vis emerging planning needs of the province, resulting in development of a comprehensive Planning Manual to improve the annual planning process 4) Undertook institutional review of Office of Auditor General Nepal, working with the World Bank, informing the new organizational design in the wake of new constitution and expanded mandate to audit local governments and cover new provinces 5) Led institutional development reforms for Planning & Development Department in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa advising government on optimal organizational structure in the wake of post-crisis recovery needs and provincial growth framework, providing concept of provincial Economic Growth Unit, strengthening of Bureau of Statistics for better evidence-based planning and embedding greater ownership for medium-term planning process6) Lead consultant for preparation of a PforR program for World Bank in the area of public financial management for service delivery (approx. USD 200 million), including reforms in the areas of efficient use of public finances and improving accountability for results 7) Preparation of a Policy Loan (USD 750 million) in the area of state-owned enterprise (SoE) reforms, focusing on cross-cutting enabling areas such as labor retrenchment, communication, regulation, etc.; SoE performance monitoring, corporate governance and portfolio management; and restructuring and reform of selected fiscally costly SoEs

The GBP 15 million Sustainable Energy and Economic Development (SEED) project is funded by UK’s Department for International Development, Department and implemented by Adam Smith International. The project is working on improved economic and urban planning in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (the north-western province of Pakistan), with the ultimate goal of mobilizing public and private investments that generate greater economic, social & environmental returns.
