As the founder of Fuloni, I am prompted to reflect upon my expedition and recognize that the origin of my entrepreneurial spirit was rooted within me from an early age. Even prior to commencing Fuloni, my ardor for web development and design had already enveloped me and I had dabbled in entrepreneurship whilst studying Computer Science and Engineering.In the year of 2013, whilst still in the throes of my computer science education, I endeavored to establish HealtheKart.com, India's first online pharmacy. Unfortunately, I lacked the necessary means and counsel to manifest my aspiration. However, despite experiencing this setback, I refused to relinquish my aspirations of building something impactful and thus resolved to dropout from my engineering and instead embark on the path towards entrepreneurship.In order to fortify myself for this voyage, I autodidactically honed various skills such as web development and design, digital marketing, copywriting, content writing, graphic design, video editing, social media management, brand strategy, and SEO/SEM. As a freelancer, I immersed myself in various gig platforms and expounded on matters within my purview, consequently acquiring expertise over the years.It was during this period I explored the burgeoning trend of dropshipping and alongside my co-founder, established several profitable dropshipping stores, despite encountering setbacks along the way. We explored white-labeling, sourcing products from manufacturers, and vending them under our brand name, utilizing 3PL to deliver products worldwide. However, I eventually came to the realization that dropshipping was not a sustainable long-term business model and began researching underserved niches.In the course of my research, I stumbled upon a nascent market in the plant and home garden industry, one that was relatively less saturated. I strategically approached one of India's largest online plant nurseries for a partnership to supply plants in the Northeast region. In the process, I gained valuable insights and developed a deep understanding of the industry.During this time, I also noticed the excessive use of plastic in the horticulture industry and its negative impact on the environment. This realization inspired me to build Fuloni, India's first Plastic-Free Plants and Home Garden D2C Brand, to rid the industry of plastic pollution and make our planet a better place.My antecedent entrepreneurial experiences, my freelancing career, my foray into dropshipping, have all served as the bedrock upon which I have founded my current venture, Fuloni.
