Led the Oracle Fusion Middleware and Java businesses. Responsible for all product development and go to market related functions. Oracle Fusion Middleware is composed of multiple product lines including the Weblogic application server, middleware cloud services, application and data integration, business process management, business intelligence, content management and collaboration, identity management and security, and development tools. The Java products include all standards and products such as Java EE, Java SE, Java ME and Java Card. This covered multiple large businesses such as Business Intelligence, Application Servers, Integration, Security, Content management and Java.

Led major parts of the Oracle Fusion Middleware suite including the application server, business process management, service and data integration, IdM and content management. Led multiple acquisitions including BEA systems, and Java and middleware products from Sun. Led the Java development team that delivered Java 7.

Started the effort to build a market leading Identity and Access Management (IDM) suite as part of Oracle Fusion Middleware. We developed the suite through both new development as well as key acquisitions. Starting many years after the competition, today Oracle IdM is one of the market leaders in its category.

I returned to Oracle and led the effort to develop browser based tools for database management and software lifecycle management. Built the effort from the ground up and delivered some of the most innovative management capabilities for the Oracle product lines.

Started Karient with a small group of really smart individuals to build application management tools for service providers.

I was the founding member of the company where I recruited and led the engineering organization to enable hosting of business applications on the internet. Then called an Application Service Provider (ASP), Corio delivered business applications on the internet. Those were the early days of what is now referred to as SaaS and Cloud. Corio was acquired by IBM.

I joined the Database development group at Oracle after graduating from Rutgers. Worked as a developer in the lower half of the database kernel. Implemented key features in the transaction management layer of Oracle version 7 and Oracle version 8. Started managing teams of developers after a few years. When I left in 1998 I was leading multiple teams responsible for some of the key layers of the Database.
