Curriculum development and taught core instruction to students in General Education Development (GED) and Academic Enrichment Programs (AEP). Class average of 20 students.Taught students in GED how to develop reading and writing skills that teaches entry-level students to read and write effective sentences, paragraphs, and essays in Standard American English. In addition, to develop critical thinking skills, fosters creativity, and provides a framework for the writing process all students can use to communicate effectively in written words at the college-level.Taught students in AEP the understanding of fundamental operations using integers, fractions, decimals, percentages, and perimeter and area of basic geometric figure concepts, and to strengthen basic skills in mathematics and introductory algebra which includes operations on real numbers, polynomials, special products and factoring, and linear equations and inequalities. Students covered instruction in graphs, systems of linear equations, exponents and quadratic equations.Accepted and taught classes based on varied schedules (morning, afternoon, evening and weekends) to accommodate diverse student needs and external stakeholders.A member of the STEM Grant Writing team directed by Dr. Troy Vaughn, Associate Vice Chancellor for Continuing Education Services. The STEM Grant is be accepted and adopted by all TCC campus as part of their summer high school student programs.Maintains student attendance and academic records to track progress and growth.Academic advisement to students relating to academic curricula and vocational activities.Demonstrates a sensitivity toward and respect for the myriad of diversities represented in the student population, colleagues and service area.Actively pursues and participates in professional development activities to enhance skills in various modes of instruction and knowledge of learning (ex. Plato, Online TABE testing).
