As one of my supervisor’s put it, “it’s a flanking maneuver”, and an important one at that. While organizations work directly with policy makers, legislators, and government officials, their grassroots program can help develop the necessary public awareness, knowledge, and engagement tactics that will help the organization deliver on its cause and/or policy needs.

    Developing projects using HTML, CSS, Python, JAVA, and MEAN.I recently completed a 14 week coding boot camp at #CodingDojo, which included over 1,000 hours of designing, building and deploying full stack web applications. In the process, I have worked to gain proficiency in Java, Python and MEAN languages and MVC frameworks. We also had the opportunity to build CRUD operations, RESTful APIs and maintain complex SQL and NoSQL databases (single-relation or multiple-relations, anyone?) Additionally, we were taught design concepts for front-end frameworks utilizing Javascript, jQuery, Angular 4, React, HTML5 and Bootstrap. As we progressed through the 14 weeks our instructors worked with us on a daily basis to help develop a solid understanding of algorithms, helping us conceptualize the intended function, why it was useful, and how we could use it in the various languages were learning. I would love to join a company or an organization who's mission I can support by applying my experience in cause and policy advocacy and growing knowledge of multiple programming languages.
