Our currently engaged projects in East African region encounter sections of highly geotechnically challenging ground conditions where we have to deliver constructible design solutions acceptable to all technical parties involved. A typical hydropower project consists of weir, intake, pebble tank, desilting tank, headrace channel, aqueducts, penstock supports, surge tank, forebay tank, powerhouse etc. Responsibilities held and tasks undertaken-• Geotechnical analysis, designs, calculations, drawings and reporting for various projects• Conducting engineering geological model development, slope stability modelling and seismic assessments.• Conducting and manage field data acquisition, site investigations and testing• Providing geotechnical expertise to meet project needs• Preparation of reports and specifications• Working with international stakeholders as a member of the geotechnical team• Field monitoring and data assessment• Coordination with projects across eastern Africa• Appreciation of engineering risk• Carrying out site inspections

Project features - Construction of viaducts, bridges, surveying and hydrological study for road trace, embankments, culverts, drains, pavement and extensive soft ground treatments as the trace traverse through the Muthurajawela wetlands. Responsibilities held and tasks undertaken-• Geotechnical design proposals – Slope stability, embankment, retaining wall, shallow foundation, deep foundation, gravel compaction piles, spun – piled embankment etc.• Assisting in scoping geotechnical aspects of projects• Geotechnical investigations and interpretation of test results• Pile termination and defect rectification• Pile testing and interpretation of test results and providing solutions for defective pile foundations• Coordination with consultant and client to meet the contractual requirements• Field monitoring and data assessment• Representing the contractor in the meetings• Construction site supervision

Project Features - Extensive cut and fill sections as the trace traverse through the Aparekka hilly area & extensive soft ground treatments as the trace traverse through the marshy areas of the flood plain of Nilwala river Responsibilities held and tasks undertaken-• Geotechnical analysis, design, drawings and reporting for slope stability, seepage analysis, embankment, retaining wall, shallow foundation, deep foundation, Gravel compaction piles, spun – piled embankment etc.• Site inspections for bored piles and soft ground treatments• Pile termination & defect rectification• Construction of viaducts, bridges and embankments• Coordination with consultant and client to meet the contractual requirements• Geotechnical investigations and interpretation of test results• Pile testing and interpretation of test results and providing solutions for defective pile foundations• Representing the contractor at meetings
