Business feasibility & policy consulting for the Mexican Secretariat of Energy (SENER) and the Mexican Energy Regulation Commission (CRE) to increase share of renewables in the national energy mix with smart contracts via community choice aggregation programs.

Corporate Strategy & Business Development undertook new initiatives to develop power projects, enhance energy security, improve system reliability, drive business growth, and create value for the organization via innovative projects. I was involved in the following roles:- Financial modeling and commercial analysis for strategic initiatives including; a) Coal, Oil & Gas based power projects and, b) Renewable energy projects under the company’s Climate Change Policy.- Corporate valuation & development of restructuring/unbundling options for the integrated utility in collaboration with PwC Pakistan & UK. - Project development for KE’s flagship 700 MW coal-fired plant with dedicated jetty. Activities included: i) Negotiations on Joint Development Agreement and Shareholding Agreement with Chinese equity partners, ii) financial modeling, iii) securing regulatory approvals, iv) negotiations for project documents including PPA/EPC/CSA/O&M, v) working with project lenders on Financing Agreements to raise up to USD 750 million. - Project development, financial modeling, and preparation of investment memorandums for up to 100 MWs of Solar and Wind projects.- Development of utility’s long-term business plan including power demand & supply projections, target fuel mix of generation, and financial evaluation of options. - Due diligence of companies for possible corporate acquisitions.- Development of Net Metering initiative to facilitate distributed generation in KE’s licensed area.- Evaluation of inclusion of nuclear based power and development of LNG procurement strategy.- Representation of K-Electric on Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (OICCI) Task-Force to draft policy recommendations on Energy Conservation to Ministry of Water and Power.

Elected as VP - ISC (2012-2013), overlooking student affairs, event management, budget allocation (PKR 20 million), and oversight of 27 student-run co & extra-curricular societies.

Interned in the Supply-Chain Finance department. Worked as a part of the hybrid finance function for various cross-functional projects including Logistics, Production Analysis, Benchmarking, and CAPEX allocation.- Carried out the analysis of the Shipping Cost Module to determine opportunities for improvement. Analyzed UPL's primary distribution (Factory to Depot & Depot to Depot) network and determined cost saving avenues by eliminating multiple deliveries, optimizing vehicle usage by type and capacity, and highlighting areas for contract re-negotiations with distributors. Exercise resulted in significant projected annual savings.- Carried out production analysis of Home and Personal Care products' factory for multiple brands. Determined the impact of grammage reductions taken in products on units, raw material usage, packaging material usage, and cost. Determined the impact on gross margins from subcontracting services.- Carried out case building exercise for CAPEX split between Unilever Pakistan Ltd. (UPL) and Unilever Pakistan Foods Ltd. (UPFL) based on demand projections of products, estimation of cash flows, and project NPV and IRR. Developed a rationale for CAPEX contribution from UPL and UPFL.- Conducted external benchmarking exercise for supply chain costs for UPL.- Optimized Supply-Chain cost-tagging for personnel by identifying reporting lines, cost centers, and re-allocation of resources.
