with annual turnover of $600mln, I’m responsible of making sure we get all our revenue from Iraqi government through creating and submitting our lifting invoice, also this includes dealing with different stakeholders from the Iraqi government (e.g. MoO, SOMO, PCLD and BOC), and with Shell trading partner. Played a crucial role to minimize cash exposure and help generating cash to the company that will leverage the company financial position. - Prepare yearly budget with the Business of ~ $115 Mln (e.g. Wells, Production operations, Production support, Facilities ... ext.). followed by close monitoring of expenditure on a monthly basis and advise the business on the right financial decisions.- Prepare Managment Information on our Cash Surplus/Divest, working capital movements & Cash Management.- Benchmarking the asset against others similar assets.- Stake Holders Managment: Prepare and run meeting with the external stakeholder (SOC), providing.- Preparing Management Information reports, budgets, commentaries and financial statements. excellent management information about the business.- Creating business strategies to generate shareholder value.- developing and managing financial systems/policies- Analyze and/or prepare monthly financial information.- Design and implement financial control framework around assets and materials management. This includes fixed assets register, operational spares, movable assets, project stock, wells material, surplus stock and waste material.- Making sure that all cost are been charged to the right cost pool.- Controlling and forecasting income and expenditure.- Managing a good contract controls by keeping an eye on the contracts (expire dates, rates, high-risk assessment, amendments), plus doing financial evaluations to the vendors before awarding them any contracts.- Report out on design and operational effectiveness of the asset and materials management financial controls.- Support Customer (Iraq National Company) and auditors during visits to test the design and operational effectiveness of the controls.- Develop a good understanding of the Asset Maintenance Planning in SAP system and assist the Senior Production Accountants and business in the budgeting of the maintenance cost of the Asset.- Providing monthly forecast updates vs. budget to management- Preparing JVs to post the accruals in the system ledger.

- Preparation of annual Wells expenditure budget (Drilling, Workovers, Wellwork).- Detailed cost tracking of Workover jobs and Wellwork (Rig based and Rigless).- Preparation of Workover AFE’s to ensure that all Workover jobs are have ROO Financial approval prior to commencement.- Cost Tracking of expenditure against approved Wells contract values and highlighting any areas of concern regarding overspent contracts in a timely manner to allow amendments to be generated to cover expenditure and allow for full cost recovery.- Close out of old contracts ensuring all billings have been submitted, processed and paid to vendors.- Providing detailed expenditure forecasts to assist in calculating contract values prior to submission of contract for CRC (Contract Review Committee) approval.- Providing weekly / monthly expenditure updates on Workover / Wellwork costs (including estimated V’s VOWD V’s Actuals V’s EFC analysis).Production of forecast financial data required to support the preparation of AFEs.- Checking all invoices for Workovers / Wellwork to ensure compliance with contract rates and terms.- Providing accurate Value Of Work Done (VOWD) and accruals to BP Finance.- Providing monthly forecast updates V’s budget to ROO Wells Management, Finance and Performance Management team.- Responding to any ad-hoc queries related to all aspects of ROO Wells expenditure.- Demonstrating a commitment to BP ROO safety culture.

First when I joined BP, ROO – I needed to see how Finance Department works,I started with Treasury – I was working at the beginning on the payment run on sun system, ( to pay all approved invoices and send them to the bank to issue the payment), Also worked on sending the remittance advice to all the vendors to let them know that their invoices have been paid. Then I was learning how they run the petty cash.
