I have started my career as a Trainee attached to the Government Audit Branch at University of Kelaniya. Soon after that, I was joined at Accounts Branch in the Centre for Distance and Continuing Education at University of Kelaniya for another one year period as a Trainee Employee on contact basis. While I was there I had a great opportunity to joined a World Bank funding project namely HETC (Higher Education for Twenty First Centaury) as a Management Assistant under the Ministry of Higher Education at University of Kelaniya. The main objective was this project to enhance the capacity of higher education system and to deliver quality higher education services in line with equitable, social and economic development needs of the country. Throughout the whole project period I've gained lot of experiences related to several areas of Accounting, Finance, Administration, Procurement and overall implementation of the project using GOSL guidelines (Government of Sri Lanka) as well as World Bank guidelines. It was the key turning point of my life, because I have been worked with public sector administrative staff, non academic staff, students, university academic members like Professors, Senior Lecturers and World Bank country members as well. At there, I served five years. Then, I had been received another job offer to joined as a Secretary at the Accelerating Higher Education Expansion and Development (AHEAD) Operation, which also a World Bank funding project under the Ministry of Higher Education at University of Kelaniya. Here, I worked as the Secretary from April 2018 to January 2022 and promoted to the position of Senior Administrative Officer from January 2022 and served there as of 27th July 2023. I’m an open and positive minded, enthusiastic trustworthy and hardworking graduate. Through hard work and team work, I wish to acquire new experience and gain knowledge, which would help me to improve my skills and climb the corporate ladder to achieve even more challenging positions.
