In this position, I oversaw all corporate finance and controller functions for this North American Energy Services Company with $50M in revenue and over 200 employees. I was involved in strategic financial and accounting guidance to senior executives and the Board of Directors. I also prepared company and capital budgets, financial statements, and Management Discussion and Analysis (MD&A) and assisted with implementation of IFRS.My responsibilities included monitoring operational cash flow, reviewing financial working papers (monthly, quarterly, and annually), and conducting due diligence reviews of all prospective acquisition targets. I developed finance and treasury policies to align with overall corporate objectives, and liaised with company auditors. Additionally, I directly supervised Canadian and US accounting teams, which included 4 managers (Accounting and Payroll) and a total staff of 15. I managed a corporate expense budget of $5M.Key Achievements:• Spearheaded elimination of annual auditing errors among newly acquired companies saving over $50K in auditing fees (2014).
