As a proactive and results-driven expert with over a decade of experience in mechanical and marine systems, I have proved proficiency in developing, operating, and maintaining numerous systems used on ships, ports, and docks. My qualifications include a Meng (Mechanical) degree from the University of Wolverhampton in the United Kingdom, a Marine Engineering Diploma from the Colombo International Nautical and Engineering College in Sri Lanka, and a Diploma in IT and Human Resources Management from the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute. I also hold Certificate of Competency in Marine Engineering Class 3, which qualifies me as an Officer in Charge of marine engineering watch keeping.As an Engineering Officer at the Sri Lanka Ports Authority, I am in charge of assuring the proper operation of machinery aboard tug boats. My daily activities include record-keeping, inventory management, routine maintenance and repairs on marine equipment and systems, vessel inspection to ensure compliance with safety regulations, diagnosis and troubleshooting of equipment malfunctions, administration of the engine room crew, and conducting necessary modifications in machineries and piping arrangements. In addition, I've worked on fire tug boats and dredgers.With previous experience as a Marine Engineer for Maersk Line and a trainee at Colombo Dockyard PLC and Maersk Line, I have received extensive training in equipment fitting, electrical, automation, welding, and other marine-related workshop skills. My qualifications and skills include deep understanding of maritime engineering fundamentals and techniques, fluency in Ansys, SolidWorks, and other engineering tools, outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities, the ability to work effectively in a team setting, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and knowledge with maritime legislation and safety standards such as ISM are all required. I also possess a Designated Person Ashore (DPA) credential, which certifies my competence in ship safety management.
