Darrell S. Haskin, Owner of Haskin Aviation Technology Consulting LLC and former the Director of Flight Crew Systems at Delta Air Lines has over 41 years of experience at four US airlines.Darrell formed Haskin Aviation & Technology Consulting, LLC in Nov 2020 to leverage decades of airline and technology experience by providing consulting services to transportation, consulting, and technology companies worldwide. The main objective of this new venture is to help organizations by reducing costs, increasing speed to market, and navigating away from project and integration pitfalls that are so common and yet so often repeated. The depth and breadth of Darrell’s experience is unique, and he can provide significant value to his clients. Darrell began his airline career in airport operations. For more than 12 years his responsibilities included all major aspects of terminal and ramp operations including centralized weight and balance, gate, and ticket counter functions. In 1990 he moved from operations to the Information Technology Division within the Cargo department. In Cargo he was instrumental in establishing new systems and applications such as bar coding shipments, automating lot label printing, and implementing a common worldwide cargo handling system. In 1999 Darrell changed course and moved into the Finance IT organization. There he continued to lead several major software projects including a new state-of-the-art Treasury system, development of a Finance Data Mart, and implementation of several new Tax and Accounting systems.In another change from IT to the Finance and Accounting business area, Darrell became director of Finance. There he led the Payroll and Accounts Payable teams through one of the most challenging periods in the company’s history: a strike by the airline’s mechanics in August of 2005 followed on September 15, 2005 by the Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing.In 2008, Darrell moved back into IT to lead the pilot and flight attendant systems integration. Here Darrell was also leading the re-write of the legacy crew systems and the implementation of new onboard technology including the distribution of nearly 22,000 Windows 8 Nokia Lumia 1520 phones as well as 12,000 Microsoft Surface V2 tablets for Delta’s pilots. Then he led the effort to convert all mobile devices to the Apple iOS platform. Darrell had responsibility for more than 60 crew scheduling and catering applications.Darrell holds an MBA from the University of Memphis’ Fogelman College of Business and Economics.
