Hi, I'm Hassan Raheem - a product designer passionate about creative problem-solving, developing scalable solutions, and good UX. I have a diverse background including art history, bicycle mechanics, and veterinary nursing. Building on the skills I developed through these experiences, and looking for a new set of challenges, I transitioned into the world of UX design in 2022.My foundations in art history and theory, in which I delved into the realms of color, form, and expression, have helped me to hone my skills in visual storytelling and composition. Exploring the principles of visual communication across various artistic movements, I gained a deep appreciation for the intersection of art, culture, and the human experience.To keep myself fed, and my hands engaged, I started working as a bicycle mechanic during college, where I cultivated a strong mechanical understanding. This also gave me my introduction to the art of systematic problem-solving while maintaining a meticulous attention to detail. My promotion from mechanics into management helped me expand my teaching and leading abilities. Running a bike shop allowed me to gain experience balancing the needs of a business while also cultivating not just a customer base, but also a community of others with a shared passion.Transitioning into veterinary nursing enabled me to further improve my communication and customer service skills to anticipate diverse needs while tending to both animals and their human companions with care, empathy and compassion.Driven by my love of visual language, comfort with technology, and a desire for continuous learning, transitioning into the UX field felt like a natural step. Leveraging my past experiences, I use my problem-solving skills, creativity, and natural empathy for my users to craft digital experiences that resonate deeply, while balancing utility and aesthetic appeal. My background across a range of environments and teams equips me to navigate a variety of contexts effectively and deliver solutions that exceed expectations, no matter the challenge.From conducting user research and wireframing, to working with developers and stakeholders at all levels, to product managing many of my projects, building a design system from scratch, and prototyping and testing multiple solutions, I have built a strong set of skills and hands-on experience across every stage of the design process. I look forward to continuing to develop those skills and broaden my experience by tackling new challenges in new contexts within this space.
