Business Intelligence Expert
CurrentWorking in the Expansion team as the data-expert gave me the opportunity of owning a topic and being able to directly measure my impact on the company growth.I have achieved so far: - Increasing usability of our revenue forecast standard process from 60% to 93% of the desired locations. That was achieved by identifying the outliers that couldn't be covered with our normal process of gathering data, and figuring new sources while adapting the standard process to use the additional data accordingly. All of it in partnership with the data-engineering team that implemented the DWH schema changes that I drafted.- Reducing the deviation of our forecast from 30% against our actuals, to 17%. That was achieved by exploring and evaluating each step of our forecast process, and identifying the biggest source of deviations. With that we were able to come-up with 2 solutions. One short-term that is being implemented, and another long-term that will be more complex, but will allow for additional and scalable increase in the accuracy. We achieved that using Jupyter Notebooks, and Excel for analysis, consuming the data in BigQuery, and keeping everyone on the loop by sharing Google Docs, and presentations with proposals and the summary of findings.- OKR champion and responsible for setting the Expansion goals, metrics and initiatives, as well as creating tools, and leading the workshops with the team to collect their insights and keep track of our progress a long the cycles.- Leading deep-dives into data and answering Expansion related business questions whenever they appear, for example, answering what the effects of property sizes, or highly seasonal locations in the revenues, and how can we react to it in our business plans. Statistical analysis, combined with business understanding and the data-available are essential to answer those questions, and my close to 2 decades of experience working on different industries adds a lot of value to the insights I generate.
