Hassan is an Associate for the Engineering team at Apotex Inc. In the past, Hassan has had diverse work experiences in Chemical Manufacturing in Canada. His critical thinking and detail-oriented approach to engineering problems can be attributed to his blend of hands-on technical experience in Process R&D and Chemical Manufacturing.Hassan has extensive volunteering experience as an External Affairs Coordinator in the Chemical Engineering department at Queen's University. His work was mainly to create educational trips/visits for chemical engineering students to nearby chemical industries. This would help students to build a real-life connection with potential employers and learn more about the industry.Using his experience at Grafoid Inc, Hassan published a scientific manuscript in the Canadian Chemical Engineering Journal where he was able to demonstrate that significant time and energy can be saved in Graphene production when employing expanded graphite (EG) in a surfactant-assisted liquid phase exfoliation process. His optimized production process was accomplished in a much shorter time (<30 min) and required less exfoliation energy (close to 80-fold lower) than that of other traditional production methods. In summary, the product was produced much faster and required less energy for exfoliation, thus making it a more efficient alternative production technique.Detail-oriented and deadline-driven, Hassan aims to leverage his experience and passion for learning, to work in a team environment where strong analytics, critical reasoning, and an innovative mindset are employed to provide creative sustainable solutions for engineering and science.Outside of work, he is extremely active and enjoys learning new skills. He loves traveling the world, meeting new people, and is a huge basketball fan.Hassan is always looking to connect and learn from like-minded individuals in a variety of areas of study.
