My role at IBM is split between two teams; Systems and Core IT. Systems manages the VMWare, server infrastructure and storage technologies and Core IT manages the Microsoft stack. My work includes creating low-level design documents, liaising with business and technical teams to architect new solutions and then presenting them to clients. Systems:• In this customer facing role, I am leading a geographically dispersed team of 16 highly skilled individuals excelling in storage, virtualization, backup and data center management.• Lead daily operations related to VMWare stack – including Horizon, ESXi, VCenter and vSAN.• Managing a datacenter of 150+ servers (Lenovo, IBM, Sun and Power8), NetApp NAS Storage, Cisco MDS switches, IBM DS8K, XIV and FlashSystem SAN storages.• Instrumental in Windows 7 to Windows 10 upgrade project as it required upgrading the VDI infrastructure and master images while retaining support for legacy applications.• Migration of VMWare workloads to Microsoft Azure cloud. • Project management tasks for internal team and liaising with PMO, vendors and stakeholders to deliver exceptional quality in projects.• Run project planning workshops, build artifacts and documentation to keep project repositories and documentation up to date and highly technical.Core IT:• Led the email migration from on-premises to Exchange Online for 5000+ users with Enterprise Vault archived emails.• Technical owner and lead of migration from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2016 for 8000 users in a complex environment of F5 load balancers with LTM and GTM, cross-site DAGs, legacy and modern application integrations. • Responsible for creating low-level design solutions with Visio diagrams for Exchange client access and mail flow. • Manage Office 365 services, licensing and troubleshooting.• Manage Windows 2012 and Windows 2016 servers, active directory, DNS, DHCP and other Microsoft services.

Responsible for supporting and lining up infrastructure technology with business strategy, integrating company processes with the appropriate systems. Lead operational quality through IT Policies and Procedures development, while also assessing the impact of emerging technologies geared towards strategic business needs. Infrastructure shift from old office to new office location: Responsible for the movement of the entire infrastructure that served 1400+ people from the old office location to the new head office while maintaining all asset counts, network security and data integrity. This included setting up new OSPF routes, BGP routes for connecting to vendor’s infrastructure and VPN. Equipment used: Cisco 3900 ISR, Cisco Catalyst 6500 core switch and Cisco Catalyst 3650 access switches alongwith Cisco 5500 wireless LAN controller and Cisco Aironet 2700 access points. Business continuity planning and implementation team lead: Created new and amended existing business continuity planning tasks and procedures to ensure maximum level of business continuity with strong emphasis on creating redundant network infrastructure at hot-sites and streamlined data backups and restorations with minimum system downtime. This project also included high-availability of routers and switches using HSRP, STP, and load-balancing. RTO was set to 6 hours and RPO was set to 12 hours.Implementation of FortiGate firewall, FortiAnalyzer, McAfee EPO and SQUID proxy on Linux: Real-time heuristics in network management, network access control and data loss prevention. Successfully cut down on major network threats faced by the company and controlled bandwidth utilization. This project had strong emphasis on the use of access control lists, route-maps, IP chaining, SYSLOG agents and server setup, PRTG SNMP and DansGuardian.
