I am currently doing a PhD on Learning in Virtual Reality at Tilburg University about awe, virtual reality, the overview effect and learning.My skills range in the field of industrial design and creativity to valid scientific research.I am a graduate of the Bachelor Industrial Design at Eindhoven University of Technology. I focused mainly on user-friendly products. My vision on design is that it should be fun and easy to use and help a user to reach a goal. Stimulating multiple senses can help in making a product more fun, or to take an overload of information away from one sense to devide it over more (instead of only visual information, haptic or auditory information can be added). I have experience in academic research, UX research, UX design, hosting workshops, and have a strong sense of usability.From industrial design I enrolled in the pre-master for Human Technology Interaction, because my favourite part of Industrial Design is user research (what does a user want, including conducting interviews, focus groups, and so on), and user testing (presenting a finished or nearly finished product to a (group of) user(s) and truly reviewing a product this way.I am a research master graduate in Human Technology Interaction. I followed courses related to senses, including sound perception, and perception of light. My research project focused on perception of gaze by humans in humans and 2D images. I spend an international semester doing research with social robots at Toyohashi University of Technology at the Interactions and Communications Design lab. My master thesis focused on persuasion in virtual flooding experiences.
