Upon graduating from UGA, I began my career as a Marketing Associate with Sysco Atlanta in 1996. This was a straight commission, outside B2B cyclical sales job. My customers purchased several times per week for next day delivery. Sysco has excellent and continued sales and consulting training which I used to my advantage. Sysco’s goals quickly became my own such as growing my new business by 20%, penetrating my existing accounts by 10%, and keeping lost business below 6%. My immense product and industry knowledge coupled with my high focus on customer satisfaction and being a consultant in every way to my customers always made me stand out amongst my many competitors. I always implement smart pricing strategies and was a key contributor to company profits and revenues. I made “Elite Club”, “President’s Club”, and “Chairman’s Club” many years. In addition I received many Leadership Awards and served as a mentor to many new salesmen in my district. I also sat on the MA steering committee many years making sure my colleagues voices were heard. A few of my strongest attributes are relationship building and maintaining, customer service, creative problem solving, negotiating, the ability to deal with a diverse mix of customers daily, and communication. After 22 years, I accepted an offer with another broadliner. I thoroughly enjoyed all 22 years, and I am very appreciative of the opportunities and excellent training Sysco provided me with.
