Hatice Öncel completed her secondary and high school education at the St Georg Austrian High School. Then she graduated from Boğaziçi University Chemical Engineering Department. In 1989, she started her career as a specialist in the Quality Control laboratory in Biofarma Pharmaceuticals, the first industrial company of the Öncel family. Later, she established the R&D and Regulatory Affairs Departments and she has worked as the Head of Technical Operations in Biofarma.In addition to her business life, she received an MBA at Bilgi University, Department of Business Administration in 2004.In March 2009, she left Biofarma Pharmaceuticals and established the İLKO Pharmaceuticals and İLKO Pharmaceuticals Research and Development Center (İLKO Argem). İLKO Pharmaceuticals focuses on advanced technology products that make a difference.In 2015, she realized the establishment of the company İLKOGEN in the field of biotechnology, a joint venture company of ILKO with South Korean biotechnology R&D company Genexine, and then she activated İLKO Argem Biotechnology Center. There are three ongoing development projects of one biobetter and three biosimilar products under this organization.Since 2017, ILKO Pharmaceuticals has also been operating in the field of consumer healthcare with products developed under the WELLCARE brand.As well as being the General Manager of İLKO Pharmaceuticals, Hatice Öncel is responsible as the Chief Executive Officer of İLKOGEN and Öncel is also member of Selçuklu Holding Board of Directors.She is a member of Istanbul Chamber of Industry ISO, Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association of Turkey (İEİS), TİSD, İVEK and Konya Chamber of Industry.
