Reviews and meets or exceeds the unit's mobilization readiness objectives; acts as the Commander's representative when voicing concerns related to readiness; prepares for and recommends solutions to unit deployment requirements; coordinates daily with all other unit support functions to ensure readiness evolves with the mission, policy and directives; monitors medical readiness of all personnel and oversees the unit Family Care Plan program; ensures the unit is always in the highest state of readiness.

Army Battalion Career Counselors provide guidance and career counseling to Soldiers of the Army National Guard; conduct reenlistment and transition interviews; provide incentives and benefit information to Soldiers; determine Soldier eligibility for reenlistment or extension; prepare and process reenlistments, extensions, or transition documents; coordinate reenlistment ceremonies; prospect and identify eligible Soldiers to fill vacant positions, assist in preparation and submission of packets; assist TPUs and AGRs with onboarding, off boarding, education benefits, new assignments, and all Army programs; and brief leaders on matters relating to reenlistment and transition activities.

Generates leads and prospects; interviews and processes qualified applicants for enlistment; prepares forms and documents; conducts formal and informal presentations on advantages of the National Guard (ARNG) to student bodies, civic and service organizations; provides technical assistance in retention and attrition management programs for affiliated units; acts as Recruit Sustainment Program (RSP) Cadre during inactive duty training weekend; prepares all assigned Soldiers physically, mentally and administratively for Basic Combat Training.

Observer, Controller/Trainer: Assists units with the planning, preparation, execution, and evaluation of realistic and doctrinally correct lanes training exercises, mobile training teams, and functional assistance visits, IAW the Training & Evaluation Support System; provides MOS specific and functional area assistance to units on doctrinal matters related to mobilization, deployment, combat readiness, training, logistics, and administration; provides feedback to units through professional After-Action Reviews and written reports. On order, serves as a Unit Mobilization Assistor to ensure preparation, mobilization, and validation of units for war or contingency operations.

Fire Team Leader: Responsible for the welfare, fitness, morale and discipline of a four man team; responsible for the individual training and maintenance of their equipment; primary instructor and advisor in the matters of tactics, personnel management and junior leader development; directs his team's tactical employment during offensive and defensive operations; responsible for the accountability and maintenance of all assigned MTO&E equipment worth in excess of $30,000.
