• Conduct highly complex Illinois income, sales and use tax audits of multi-national corporations, businesses, partnerships and individuals involving taxes administered by the Department of Revenue.• Serve as an auditor-in-charge: assigning, directing and reviewing the activities of an audit team conducting large-scale audits of corporations, industries and business entities.• Interpret and resolve technical problems required during audits.• Prepare and/or review and approve audit reports.• Testify as an expert witness at informal hearings and in court.• Research tax laws, rules, regulations and other resource materials applicable to cases.• Of 300 Illinois auditors, only one qualified to conduct both state income tax and state sales and use tax audits.
