I started my real estate career in Hawaii in 1998 at a small brokerage in Princeville on Kauai. In 2002, I was hired as a Broker-In-Charge for one of the largest companies in Hawaii. In 1999, I started acquiring investment properties in dire need of restoration, which led to developing small scale condominium projects; larger estate properties; and even private water systems.My career evolved from real estate sales and management to include acquisitions; development; construction and property management. I came to see the profession more through the eyes of a principal than a practitioner.I co-founded Hawaii Life in June of 2008, with a strong focus on online search technology and creative design. We were one of the first companies in Hawaii to aggregate the Multiple Listing Service data across the state for consumers and to provide transparency into Hawaii's public record data. We've created our own custom search software for HawaiiLife.com and refined it over the years. We employee teams of software specialists; creative designers; inside-sales professionals; and transaction managers.HawaiiLife.com remains one of (if not the) most-trafficked real estate websites in Hawaii.The company has since grown to over 330 brokers and agents across 20 offices in Hawaii. We've helped over twenty thousand people buy and sell real estate in Hawaii. We serve the entire state, and are now one of the most successful firms in Hawaii by sales volume. We've brokered the largest residential transactions in Hawaii's history, as well some of the smallest, and everything in between.Hawaii Life is a staunchly independent, locally-owned Hawaii company, with a very literal global reach. In 2020, we co-founded Forbes Global Properties with Forbes Media, which today includes over 15,000 real estate sales professionals across the globe. I serve as the Chair of the Board of Forbes Global Properties.I've served as the President of the Kauai Board of Realtors in 2012; on the Executive Committee of the Hawaii Association of Realtors in 2013; and I'm currently a member of five separate Realtor associations across Hawaii. Occasionally I'm called as an expert witness for real estate-related legal cases in Hawaii.Since 2014, I've served as a board member of the Hawaii Land Trust, a land conservation organization with over 20,000 acres in perpetual conservation.
