Programme ManagerFinancial Ombudsman Service Aug 2014 - Apr 2015LondonFinancial Ombudsman Service is an independent service in the UK for settling disputes between businesses providing financial services & their customers. Hired to rescue a failing programme - Finance Systems Transformation - to implement new systems and business processes around the Finance function; the programme had been running for several months but was in a confused state. Work was progressing but without any discernible structure and with questionable benefits. The programme was running alongside a number of other projects and programmes that required a high level of interaction and stakeholder management, including a new data warehouse, CRM solution, data analytics, business continuity and multiple technology refreshes. This inevitably meant that the ability to keep focus and resources allocated to the programme was a key skill. My role was to lead on the project; ascertain the current state and re-scope the work required; build a team to perform the relevant business analysis, select solutions, produce documentation and convince stakeholders of the change required; both in terms of the business and technology required. This included and upgrade of the core Finance system to Great Plains from 2010 to 2013, a new payroll solution and upgrades to the Purchase order systems and asset management systems/ practices. We prioritised the work and started delivery with both internal teams and external partner. Ultimately part of the final delivery work was transitioned back to the in house team due to internal disputes.
