I work at Haverstock Hill, a high-support Mental Health project where we house and support a maximum of 15 clients. My duty is to keywork 5 clients as well as manage and support the others. A list of my duties is:- Key-working residents with support needs relating to mental and physical health and liaising with their care teams and care coordinators;- Leading key-working one-to-one sessions with clients to provide efficient support and keep their files updated;- Ensuring that client needs are met by developing safety and wellbeing plans and setting action and move on plans;- Liaising with different charities and services, including mental and physical health services, to provide the best support possible for clients;- Coming up with creative initiatives to keep clients involved and engaged with the service;- Conducting daily wellness checks, weekly room checks as well as S&W checks;- Developing problem solving skills to deal with frequent and ongoing conflicts and incidents;- Assisting in the management of the hostel’s day-to-day functioning;- Administering, observing and recording medication

This position was the best experience I could have gotten. I managed teams of editors (working in both languages English and Arabic), graphic designers, social media, and PR representatives and led them through publishing a physical (on-campus) and virtual issue weekly. In addition to that, I wrote an article weekly and conducted the final edits on both Arabic and English issues. My term in this position was marked with many difficulties in terms of situational hazards, where uprisings were occurring and a global pandemic began.On the other hand, I am proud of the fact that we continued to serve as the students' voice throughout and persevered and built a network of dedicated writers. I gladly handed over the position to a fellow student who will continue leading the Newspaper into the future enthusiastically.

I was in charge of the ‘Arts & Culture’ section in the Newspaper. This position had me curate a weekly topic list based on local and international news and attractions. I had to manage writers (students) and help them through writing these articles for the Newspaper. I edited a minimum of 3 articles/week while I wrote one or more.

I worked with the paper and wrote for the sections of the paper whenever I was available to do so, particularly in the ‘Arts & Culture’ and ‘News’ sections.
